Knowledgeable about stars? ...Not a lot of people... tend to care about stars. About what they are.
[ And it's said like they're so, so curious to ask for him to say more. About what he knows. But dares not actually ask. For reasons left unknown. ]
Their eggs were sturdy, according to some of the others but. I always kept mine on hand. Just to keep close. It was definitely easier after they hatched. [ Able to allow them to roam around on their own if they choose, but still Sirius stuck by. The chao lifting its head at the sound of Artemy's voice, eyes wide and curious before peering back down at his leg and gently patting it. There, there leggie. ] ..They're worried you're hurt.
[ glancing down at sirius, he lifts a hand and knocks with the back of his knuckles on his own knee, which thunks unnaturally, like metal muted by cloth. ]
I was hurt for a time, lost my leg. But I was able to replace it with something sturdier. I kept it, figured it'd be more helpful when I left the Eudora.
[ not that he even made it.
god he has so many questions himself, he isn't sure where to start so as not to overwhelm. he hums at that first part, a little twitch of a frown on his mouth as he thinks. ]
When you say not a lot of people care much about stars, do you mean from home?
[ Sirius watches the knock and goes :gasp: and coos sadly and pats the leg. Be nice to leg!! ]
..Eudora was where you were before?
[ All these different places, names that are unfamiliar, trying to wrap their head over it all. The idea of alternate places and worlds, universes.. that's easier to grasp but. ]
Oh. ..I guess so. It's not really... an interest anyone back home had.
[ stoooop don't be cute wtf he's maybe. a little bit warmed by it... sirius comin' out of their cage and they're doin' just fine... ]
Yeah. A big ship up in space, meant to travel from planet to planet.
[ he tilts his head a bit, genuine curiosity with a slight furrow to his brow. stargazing with some of his favorite people was kind of a hobby... his two cats, one big, one little... ]
Is there a reason no one seems to care back home? You mind if I ask that...?
[ Sirius is the baby to offer therapy in these trying times. While also being shy. ]
Travel from planet to planet..? Really? [ Their eye is so sparkly... ] Stars, what I'd give for an opportunity just once to see that for myself. Someone I knew in Heaven had their universe like that.
[ Of course, they probably wouldn't leave their world without their friends but... the idea of that. It would be nice to witness just once. ]
..I don't mind. I think it's just... something that not a lot of them think about. Don't realize that there's more to it up there. That stars are more than just lights in the sky.
It was... definitely an experience that would have been greatly improved had it not become some kind of game. [ a small smile ] But what we ended up seeing on some of those planets was pretty amazing.
[ listening now, before giving a nod. ]
By contrast, you seem to know and care quite a lot about them...
[ A bit of a wondrous and wistful look. What it would be like to have seen a fraction of those experiences even just once. ]
..A repetitive of deaths and killing is bound to sour even something like that.
[ A small shift at the mention, peering out. ]
Mostly because... I grew up knowing everything about stars. Looking at them, the constellations, what they're made of and everything that is. [ A brief pause, quieting as they look away from that sky watch. ] ..Not that I remember much anymore.
May I ask why? Or is that perhaps a story for later?
I ask only because I am familiar with losing things... perhaps not so much up here anymore, but... [ tapping his temple gently ] All the same, the stars sound precious to you.

..The stars are. [ Even if their feelings have changed quite a bit over time. ] Next time, maybe we can share a bit more with each other.
[ closes and frees us from this thread for now hehe ]
