[ A small little start, but they smile easily and warmly at him. ]
It's the truth. [ A small huff, but it's more a laugh than anything offended. ] Let's see...
[ Once things get loaded... It shows what looks to be a quaint little village, though with a few immediate unusual oddities with it. There's a few scattered people on about, the world seeming to be drenched in monotone of black and white. Various little orb-shaped people(?) statuettes standing in the center slight hill, even a few smaller ones closer to the ground doing a little dance. Fun! Much farther in the distance the sky looks to be a more clearer dark black shade spreading with stars gleaming despite the town looking to be in the middle of the day. Weird. ]
[ in they go! and when everything changes, he's taking in what he's seeing carefully. some things do and don't quite surprise him by nature of being a god who knows a little about siffrin's world, such as the monochrome feel of the village. though the statues get a cursory look, a pause as he lets his eyes skim over them carefully as if trying to get a sense of what they are. he's also a little surprised by the split in the sky, vaguely wondering if they're all a part of the same village or if the domain is split, sort of like how heaven was. ]
...so here we are. [ he seems relaxed, but he grins at them and slips his hands in his pockets. ] Where to first on our grand tour?
[ Seeing Jonas relaxed makes them smile, to them it's a bit of an earlier time in Dormont but. It isn't as if they got to see the full effect of how things were with the timeloop having ended.
They glance around, before looking to that center slight hill area in the middle of the village. Where the large statue stands, with smaller ones dancing in place around and beside it. A point to them. ]
That there is Vaugarde's Change god. As deity of Change, the Change God does not have a fixed appearance. Its body remains always the same but its expression, its face, is always changing. [ If Jonas looks closer, depictions of the statue's face are always different from another. ] ..Mirabelle explained that, "every person holds their own perception of the Change God in their minds. Thus, making a statue of the Change God reflects back on the crafter, and creates a closer connection between them and the Change God."
[ It's easy to reside words they've heard so many times before, like that of a script. ]
I remember you told me a little about this, I think. From time to time anyway. [ he will approach the statue though... ] That sounds about right though. Everyone sees God a little differently, so to have something reflective of what you can know and trust makes sense.
Is there ever a time the Change God doesn't actually reflect though?
[ It is massive. And Siffrin looks at it, like they want to do something, but instead choose to follow Jonas. For a split moment, the face on the biggest one seems to change, before its back to the one it was originally. ]
I don't know. When I met them, they were always changing their appearance to... people I knew. They were really annoying.
Well, even though their appearance would change, their voice at least still stayed the same. ..Mostly it was just annoying.
[ Number one Change God disliker. But he peers out, considering. ]
There's a few places we could see but. If you want to see my friends, every start of the loop they were always in their same positions. [ A weird way to say it. As used to it being a play as they were. ] Mirabelle is.. over by that bench, in front of the library. Odile is in the shop, Bonnie is in front of the field to the east of the village whereas Isabeau to the west by the Favor Tree.
[ There's a small pause at the mention of the Favor Tree but they don't say any more than that. ]
... guess that makes sense. At the start of ours, we'd usually either be on the way to the ferry or already on it. [ so no, it's weird, but he gets it. ]
Tell me a little more about them. Do you think there's a reason they usually start in those spots?
[ A small nod. ] It's because I went for a nap, so Mirabelle would come greet me, tell her to come meet her. So she'd settle in front of the library, looking over her papers.
Odile made plans to stock up on things we need at the shop for tonight. Isabeau would stay by the Favor Tree, trying to think of something to wish for. But he never does think of something. And Bonnie is.. well. Being a preteen. Keeping to themselves, thinking too much.
So really... it's that this happened the first time. And then when the loops started, to recreate the same scenario and not tell the other people in the loop they were looping, everyone had to go through the same motions. See the same things, say the same thoughts, everything. If they went somewhere else, the loop would change or, possible, stall and not move forward.
[ There's no interruption, but once he finishes, they do smile at him. It's a very tired kind of smile. Not because of Jonas, but because of this whole situation they had found themselves in. ]
..It's because my own wish got tangled up with another. Everyone was stuck always doing the same thing over and over. It wouldn't really change unless.. I did something different. Said something different. [ From their tone of voice, he can probably surmise that they didn't do too much of that. ] But Vaugardians wished for their country to be saved, and because of my own wish, I ended up trapped doing so. Over and over.
[ ... wishes are a new thing. he knows why they ended up in their own timeloop on the island, and he has passingly familiar knowledge about siffrin's situation, but he frowns softly as he looks them over. ]
... what was your wish then that went against theirs?
[ Siffrin doesn't meet his gaze. Perhaps because of shame? Guilt? Knowing once it's apparent, obvious what happened, it'll be obvious how horrible Siffrin is. Terrible. ]
...I wanted to stay with them forever. [ Their friends- their family. ] Being with them... is the happiest I can remember being. I didn't want our journey to end.
[ he's just... trying to think this through, mostly. ]
... even if that part of the journey was over, that didn't have to be goodbye, did it? Wasn't there a way to stay together after you saved the country?
[ Because what if they were the only one that felt that way? What if they were the only one that the journey meant more than anything to? It is hard to ask someone to stay. ]

You think? I never really looked in the cave, it was just kind of there when we started mapping the train routes.

[ Looks into the room, quiet. ] ..Sometimes, I'd use it to see my friends from home. Even though it wasn't really them.

Well... what are we waiting for then? You keep saying I'd like them if I met them, don't you?
